Residential Tower, Solidère International

Jeddah (Saudi Arabia)

2008

Concept Design / Architecture / LandscapingArea - 28,500m²

This 215-metre-high tower designed for Solidère International resembles seaweed emerging from the ground that morphs into a series of dramatic blades. Floorplans in the horizontal section spanning 1,100m2 can be divided into apartments of various sizes.

Four configurations of apartments measuring 225m2 have been designed; two types measuring 450m2; and one large apartment that spans 890m2.

The plan for the building is elliptical, sliced by lines with an east-west orientation. Large openings between the blades frame panoramic views of the Red Sea, whilst offering privacy from neighbouring units. Panoramic lifts mark the extremities of the ellipse.
